Mary Sawyer To All Instructors

Mary Sawyer has enjoyed the privilege of teaching children in a classroom setting as an Art Educator for over 40 years. As one of the 3 original HSP teachers, her goal continues to be to minister the Word of God to your children through Art Education in its many forms. In 2023, she successfully developed and implemented a Penmanship with Art Illustration Curriculum and Reading/Writing/Art Curriculum as Educator/Tutor. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Plymouth State University and has done graduate study at Regent University. She worked as Instructor and tutor for Special Needs children at Pemigewasset Development Center, Plymouth State University and is currently a Visual Fine Arts Instructor at Kings Grant School of the Arts since 2002. She served as Vice President of Kappa Delta Pi (an Honors Institution in Education) at Plymouth State University, and exhibited her artwork at the Karl Drerup Art Gallery in Plymouth, NH. She received the Teacher of the Year Award from Homeschool Plus, and is published in Who's Who Among America's Teachers, 8th Ed., 2004 and 9th Ed., 2005.

Enjoy some of our highlights from our May 2025 Chrysler Museum Field Trip:

We examined the classics created by the masters, and even posed humorously in front of Paul Gustave Doré 's famous The Neophyte (First Experience of the Monastery), 1868. We discovered how Paul Signac and Georges Seurat developed Pointillism, and viewed Edmond Cross' Divisionism seen in the Excursion. Thomas' Cole's Angel Appearing to the Shepherds (1833-1834) is fully restored to its originally glory! We had our wonderful HSP Bible Studio Art Alumni, Jaelee, give a brief glimpse into her experience in high school, and now art school in college.
